Unlocking the Potential of Teen Coaching: Your FAQs Answered

Teen coaching is a supportive, one-to-one process that helps you navigate challenges, build confidence, and achieve your goals. It gives you a safe space to talk, learn new coping tools, and feel more in control of your life.

I work with kids who are over 12 years old.
I can also work with parents and families; however, the young person is my focus.
-
Become an open-minded active listener! Be curious, remember your journey, and know that your teen is their own person.

I live in Jupiter, Florida, for six months each year. Each 50-minute session will take place on Zoom or Google Meet when I am up north. I can hold all sessions online if preferred.
-
I provide:
One-on-One Coaching – Personalised, confidential sessions tailored to your recovery goals.
Group Sessions – Supportive group spaces where individuals can share experiences and strategies.
Online Support – Flexible virtual coaching for those who prefer remote sessions.
-
To start, I recommend one session per week for 10 weeks. The goal is for the client to get to a place where they no longer need a coach. However, we can also establish regular check-ins.

The goal of a recovery coach is to promote recovery, remove barriers, connect recoveree with support services, and encourage hope optimism, and healthy living. This is done by acting as a:
· Cheerleader
· Motivator
· Ally and confidant
· Truth-teller
· Role model
· Problem solver
· Resource broker
· Advocate
· Lifestyle consultant
Your teen does not have to be in crisis to book sessions. I can help them navigate peer pressure and gain refusal tools. Please note that sobriety is a choice. I cannot force your teen to be sober. However, I can help them uncover and examine any issues that arise due to substance abuse and support them in their journey if they do choose this route.
I can also help your teen find recovery resources, navigate the transition from a treatment facility back into their lives, gain tools to live a sober life and learn to watch for pitfalls.
-
I will ask your teen to do things between sessions. This can include reflections, a plan, SMART Goals, a mind map, or other goals that require accountability. This work can be deeply personal. Let them do it themselves and share it with you if they choose.
-
Yes, all coaching sessions are completely confidential. The only exceptions are legal or safeguarding obligations, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. Your privacy, trust and growth are my top priorities.
